Uptown Girls (2003)

˖ ࣪⊹๋࣭ ⭑ Genre: drama, comedy

4 / 5 ★★★★☆

Molly looking at Ray and seeing a reflection of herself as a child, losing a loved one so suddenly, and understanding that deep down, Ray is just a kid who needed someone to be there and consistently show up for her and actually pay attention was so heartbreaking. The teacup and the last dance recital, to the song Molly's father wrote about her, were the best scenes. Along with Molly telling ray's mother not what she wanted to hear, but what she needed to as an absent mother. Also, still don't like Jesse though. And Molly was valid for not wanting her friend to be so controlling of her life, even if Molly wasn't the most responsible adult to begin with. I'd be mad too if I was suddenly being evicted cause my money was stolen and my "best friend" was selling my belongings after being told no numerous times.
